Zovirax Suspension is used to treat viral infections. It plays a vital role in treating cold sores (an inflamed blister in or near the mouth, mouth, and or genital area), shingles (a bacterial infection that causes severe pain and swelling), and treating treating viral infections like genital herpes (which is the cause of a painful erection in or near the genital area). Zovirax Suspension is also used to treat painful sex after tonsillitis, among other uses.

Zovirax Suspension contains Aciclovir 5%, which belongs to a class of medicines called antivirals. It works by effectively treating viral infections such as the herpes simplex virus (HSV) and chickenpox. Zovirax Suspension is also used to manage menstrual cramps (painful postmenopausal women with little or no pain) and uterine tightness.

Zovirax Suspension is not recommended for use in children under 40 years of age.
